Reservations

Do I need a reservation to come in, and how long is a reservation?

We highly recommend making a reservation to ensure we can serve you. While we do take walk-ins when there is availability, we cannot guarantee service without a reservation.

Lip Lab reservation times vary and depend on the number of guests included in your reservation, the type of custom service you choose and the number of items each guest creates. The custom lipstick experience can take up to 1 hour for 2 people and up to 2 hours for 6 people. The custom butter balm service typically takes half as much time as a custom lipstick experience.

What are the ingredients in the custom lipstick, balm, and high-shine gloss?

Our products are cruelty-free, vegan, paraben-free, gluten-free, and talc-free. For the full ingredient lists, click here.

 How long is a Lip Lab reservation?

Lip Lab reservation times vary and depend on the number of guests included in your reservation, the type of custom service you choose and the number of items each guest creates. The custom lipstick experience can take up to 1 hour for 2 people and up to 2 hours for 6 people. The custom butter balm service typically takes half as much time as a custom lipstick experience.

 Can I reschedule, add to, or remove guests from my reservation?

To reschedule your reservation, please see your confirmation email to cancel or reschedule your reservation. Can’t find it? Reach out to customer service here.

For groups under 6, make an additional reservation for them at the same time and we will do our best to seat you all together. If there are no available reservations, please check bookings 1-2 days before to see if there are cancellations.

For groups more than 6, please submit a party request: https://www.liplab.com/pages/host-a-party

To remove guests, please cancel via your confirmation email and rebook your reservation with the correct number of people. Your bookings block seats from other guests so please do not hold onto more seats than you need.

 Do you have a grace period if I am running late to my reservation?

We understand things happen. We offer a 10-minute grace period and will try to accommodate after that period if we have availability.  If you are more than 10 minutes late, we may need to reschedule you. 

Will I be making my own lipstick? Do I mix the lipstick myself?

Crafting your custom lip color is a mix of art and science. All custom Lip Lab products are physically mixed, poured and manufactured for you by technically trained Color Experts. You’ll provide the inspiration and creative direction, and we’ll make sure to bring that vision to life.

Does everyone have to make a custom product?

Seating is reserved based on the number of guests in reservation. Everyone in your reservation must create a custom product (Balm, High-Shine Gloss or Lipstick). If you are visiting with someone who does not want to customize a lip color, we cannot guarantee a seat for them. However, they are still welcome to hang out and consult with you on your shade!

Do you offer virtual services?

We do not offer virtual services at this time.

Can I match a discontinued product?

If you would like to match a discontinued shade, please bring your product to your reservation for our Color Experts to match. We do not offer this service virtually or by mail.

What payments do you take?

Lip Lab accepts all major credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Lip Lab gift cards. If you’d like to pay ahead of your reservation, you can do so by using a gift card.

Can I put shimmer or glitter in my custom lipstick or butter balm?

For now, no shimmer or glitter in custom lipstick or butter balm, but we do offer it in our custom high-shine lip gloss.

Does Lip Lab have an age limit?

Lip Lab is for everyone of all ages! Note the service is bar seating and lasts about 1 hour. We do require anyone under the age of 18 to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

What do I do if I have a complaint about my experience?

Didn’t have an amazing experience? We’re sorry to hear that. Please reach out to customer service and we will do our best to make it right.

Does Lip Lab accept coupon codes from third parties?

We don’t accept coupons or deals from third party websites or social channels. We occasionally do offer promotions, so sign up for our Lip Lab emails to make sure you don’t miss out!

Do you accept tips?

Tips are appreciated, but not required. If you do choose to tip, please note that we cannot accept cash tips and cannot enable tipping if Gift Card is used as payment. 

What are my options for engraving?

We offer a variety of fonts and symbols to engrave for the ultimate personalization of your product! We do not allow profanity or inappropriate words or phrases to be engraved on Lip Lab products.

How would you describe the Lip Lab environment?

Lip Lab is founded on inclusivity; we want you to feel warm, welcome and invited in our studios. Because we host a wide range of guests from all ages and backgrounds, we ask that you keep your words and tone respectful; please avoid using profanity or other inappropriate language during your visit to Lip Lab.

Parties

What are your party terms & conditions?

  • The Party Fee does not go to the cost of any products. Attendees must each spend a minimum of $65 USD/$75 CAD during the party.

  •  No refunds or reductions of the Party Fee will be granted for the following: 1) cancellations or change of Party location requests made less than fourteen (14) days prior to the Party date; 2) no shows; 3) if the actual number of attendees is fewer than paid for at the time of booking; or 4) if attendees arrive late or leave early

  •  Reservations will commence on time. Lip Lab will try its best to accommodate attendees arriving after this time but cannot guarantee based on availability.

  •  Parties that run late will be invoiced an additional $50 per half hour over time.

Online Ordering & Shipping

Can I reorder my custom lipstick?

Yes! We keep your formula on file and you are able to reorder your custom shade(s) here.

Can I match a discontinued product?

If you would like to match a discontinued shade, please bring your product to your reservation for our Color Experts to match. We do not offer this service virtually or by mail.

Can I reorder my shade in a different finish?

No, you can only order the original formula. If you would like to create a new product, please visit one of our stores to do a new service.

Will my engraving be the same as in-store?

Some of our engraving symbols and engraving placements are location-specific; we can guarantee the same engraved name but cannot guarantee the same symbols or engraving placement as your original product purchased in store. If you would like the same engraving as your original purchase, you may need to visit the Lip Lab where you originally purchased it.

What can I do if my lipstick component comes apart?

Our lipstick components are refillable, and the inner tube can pop out for a new refill to pop in. Sometimes the inner tube can pop out in transit, but it is super easy to re-assemble. Please see the video below for how to put your component back together.

 

Can I order someone else's lipstick?

Saw a shade you loved on social? Order here and include the details (i.e. influencer handle, shade name, etc.)

Do you ship to Canada?

To re-order shades made at a Lip Lab Studio in Canada, email qsw@liplab.com. Canadian refill costs are as follows: Custom Lipstick ($50 CAD), Custom High-Shine Gloss ($45 CAD), Custom Butter Balm ($40 CAD).

Can I order a shade in bulk quantities?

For bulk custom lipstick orders over 20 units, please contact

When will my order arrive? What do I do if I haven’t received a status update?

After your place an order on our website, you will receive an order confirmation email. Once your order is processed (typically between 5-7 days) it will be shipped out and you should receive an email with your shipping confirmation and tracking information.

Occasionally we experience shipping delays with our mail carriers. If you have not received your order within 14 days, please reach out to customer service and we will do everything in our power to make sure you get your order.
